Customer Rating: A MUST HAVE IF YOU ARE EXPECTING!! By Michelle Richard My friend had told me all about this book she had purchased while she was pregnant. I knew that if it made her laugh- it must be good. Well, I went out and bought it and OMIGOD. She was SO right. This book has entertained MANY of my friends, family, co-workers, and fellow mothers. The stories in here are hysterical. It's amazing at some of the CRAZY things people will say and do when they are in labor. I also enjoyed the stories from celebrities. It makes you realize that when it comes to childbirth, they are no different from you or I. I would definitely recommend this book to my family and friends. It also makes a GREAT shower gift! What an insightful, comical and original look at one of life's greatest moments - the birth of a child. I am sure fellow parents will be able to relate and relive their own experiences. Probably would make a great gift for anyone whose gone through the birthing experience Customer Rating: first step in getting over the fear of childbirth By Picky Mom Ever since I found out I was responsible for childbirth, I have always been scared of it - mainly the pain. This book was so entertaining, I could not put it down, and it was also such a great stress reliever. Knowing that many women have done it before, and under unusual circumstances. It inspired me to read more into the birth experience and be as prepared as I could be. I ended up having a natural childbirth (no epidural) and am so thankful that this book helped me get over the fear of pain. I bought this book when I was about five months pregnant. Needless to say, like most pregnant women- I was moody. I came across this book and I literally laughed SO hard and SO much that I thought I was going to go into labor. There are stories in here for EVERYONE. I had talked about twelve of my pregnant friends and mommies into buying this book and they all LOVE it. That book went with me into the delivery room and was enjoyed by all. Salazar "Nurse in CO" I wasn't all that pleased with this book. I read the other reviews and thought that this book was going to be "rolling on the floor" funny. There were some stories in there that I found very funny. However, overall the book is mostly a bunch of birth stories. Some of the stories very boring and long, or the humor was very corny. I consider myself a person with a great sense of humor. I don't withhold laughter. This book was average overall. 10 bucks isn't asking too much. See for yourself. Customer Rating: Great "real" stories of birth! By L. Sims I liked this book cause it has lots of real, actual stories of childbirth, from the moms, dads, docs, nurses, doulas, and more. Its very funny! I've had one child and am pregnant with my second, so it was great reading about an experience I've been through once and will go through again in a few months. Customer Rating: Funny and Realistic Look at Childbirth By Tamela Mccann "taminator1" Bleidner has put together a funny and realistic look at the process of childbirth, blending true stories of twists and turns of having a baby with a hilarious sense of humor. Most of these stories are laugh out loud funny and many tug at the heartstrings as well. Any mother about to give birth or who has already done so will identify with a good many of these stories. My only dislike was the addition of the celebrities' stories because most added very little to the cohesiveness of the tales and weren't very interesting to boot. But overall, this is a fun book which should bring a smile to the face of mothers everywhere. She read one story out loud and then everybody else chimed in with their own "tales from the delivery room." It's a hoot! The other "motherhood" books I got were all pretty sappy, but this one is a lot of fun (although there are a couple of stories that might put a lump in your throat). The celebrity stories are cool, too. It's nice to know that fame and fortune are no hedge against the insanity of labor. Bottom line: fun, entertaining antidote to morning sickness. It is made up of different people telling their stories and anecdotes from when they experienced childbirth. Not only mothers, but fathers, nurses, doctors, doulas, midwives and family friends tell heartwarming stories of labor and delivery. Many of the stories are by celebrities or sports stars which made them all seem more relateable. This book is a wonderful companion to any 'serious' pregnancy book you are reading. Like the Girlfriend books, "I'll Never..." gives moms-to-be as well as dads-to-be a lighthearted look at an inevitable situation.
