Description:
Mt. Falcon Park, East gate, Jefferson County Open Space, 2 miles outside of Morrison, CO. Castle Trail is the main East side access to Mt. Falcon, and immediately begins climbing for 2.7 miles on 3ft wide single track. Castle Trail leads to the Walker Home Ruins and the Summer White Ruins. Castle Trail turns into a dirt road after 2.7 miles, just after you reach the shelter. The dirt road is the access from the West side of Mt. Falcon is frequented by people on foot going to the ruins. At the shelter, take a right for short 0.4 miles technical singletrack to the Summer House ruins, or a left on 0.2 mile 2-Dog Trail which leads a spectacular vista of Denver and the Front Range. Other loop trails of note once on top are Parmalee Gulch, Devils Elbow, and the Eagle Eye Shelter. Beware of the built up berms on the trail to divert water, during the descent. These have been installed instead of water bars, and will throw you if you don't stay back (back behind the saddle).

Directions to the trail:
From Denver: I-70 West, South on C-470, West at Morrison Rd., drive through Morrison. Left at second light after the small town (going right is the access to Red Rocks Amphitheater). Follow signs to Mt. Falcon Open Space Park.
