Huntington State park is a very large area with quite a few areas that provide intense mountain biking. Novices should enjoy the double track loops through the woods, and explore the many side trails. Many are short diversions from the road so worth exploring. In the north corner of the park more skilled riders converge to test themselves against some brutal climbs and tricky singletrack. A few stream crossings, lakes with rock cliffs towering above, and some of the most beautiful forest in southern New England are yours to enjoy. Riding here in the fall is pure bliss.

Directions to the trail:
Follow Rt. 58 as it passes through the Northeast corner of Redding CT. Just south of the Bethel border, Sunset hill road runs parallel to the park's Western side. A parking lot is on Sunset hill, just drive slow and keep an eye out for the wolf and bear sculptures that flank the park entrance. A smaller lot is located a mile north up the road. Veer off on the first right you can take north of the main lot and follow back past the pond and dam The road at the back of this lot will take you straight to the technical singletrack.
