Northport seems to be a pretty well kept secret. The riding here is a lot of fun and has a bit of a North Shore atmosphere with lots of man made stunts. The ride is pretty fast at times and real slow at times. There are trails on both sides of the river. If you fall you might go for a swim as the trail is directly above the river.

Directions to the trail:
Take Hwy 75 south from Tampa past Venice and watch for the Nortport Exit. Take the exit and turn left (East). When the road makes you choose between left or right turn left, go past the bridge and take your first right. When you see the State Park sign on the right (really small sign) park there and check out the map at the trailhead.
