Description:
Cedar Valley Lakes Trail has four sections of trails. The first section is Black Hawk Park to the Main Street Bridge. The features of this section are the UNI Matala Nature Preserve, picnic areas, camping at Black Hawk Park, downtown Cedar Falls, Ice House Museum, Rapp Station, Regent Theatre, the Cedar Falls Chamber of Commerce, and the Cedar River. The second section is from the Main Street Bridge (Gateway Park) to the Greenhills Trail. This section winds through George Wyth State Park. The third section starts at the Greenhill Trail and continues to Cedar Bend Park. This section lies between Brinker Lake (in George Wyth State Park) and the Cedar River with a bridge over the natural waterway. The fourth section starts on West 18th Street (downtown Waterloo by Highway 218). This section follows the Cedar River through residential and industrial areas and the Evansdale business district. This trail connects to the 60 mile Cedar Valley Nature Trail.

Directions to the trail:
This trail starts at Black Hawk Park and ends at the Cedar Valley Nature Trail trailhead. It has four points of entry for easy access to the trail. The first is at Black Hawk Park. The second is at the Main Street Bridge at Gateway Park. The third is at the Greenhill Trail. The trailhead is accessible by turning north off of the Greenhill Road exit on Highway 218. The fourth is West 18th Street (downtown Waterloo by Highway 218).
