Middlesex Fells
Closest Major City: Stoneham
Distance: 20.00 miles (32.18 KM)
Description: A classic Boston must-do ride. This ride is made up of a combination of different loops around 3 water resevoirs. Disregard the main mountain biking loop for the most part. It's 80% dirt road. (Boring) Follow the White, Orange and Blue markers posted to trees. I like to park at the upper sheepsfold parking area and head north on the small strip of singletrack that leads through the dog field and picnic table area. Just on the other side of the field the skyline trail(white markers) picks up after a quick right then your first left. I like doing the loop counter clockwise personally. Since it's a combinations of loops, it's tough to get lost for very long. It gets pretty technical in places. Have fun!
Directions to the trail: hwy 128 to 93 south to exit 35. Left at offramp and go under hwy. Merge right. Right at first light.(friendly's will be on your left) Sheepsfold parking area is about 2 miles up on the right.(big sign)
