Nickersone State Park
Closest Major City: Brewster
Distance: 10.00 miles (16.09 KM)
Description: Some of the prettiest riding I've ever done was here at Nickerson. There's a network of trails that run off the paved and dirt roads that run through gently rolling terrain. There's more than enough to keep a serious racer happy, since the trails can be technical in places. The pine forest's sand and pine needle trail surface creates some traction challenges, and there were a few short steep climbs and trails that ran along ridges. Trails were surprisingly narrow, as if they don't get too much use. I followed a long loop that seemed to take me from one end of the park to the other, wrapping around large ponds that were just beautiful. A first rate ride and even better because its right in the middle of the Cape, which is a great place to ride in general, though mostly on pavement. Check in with the local shops for good trail directions.
Directions to the trail: The park is right on 6A in Brewster, which you more or less can't miss since its dead center in the cape and both main highways pass through it.
