Rosaryville State Park
Closest Major City: Upper Marlboro
Distance: 9.00 miles (14.48 KM)
Description: Great, rolling, twisty singletrack. Pretty fast with a few decent small ring climbs. Not too many rocks, logs, or big roots but enough to make it interesting for the beginner/intermediate rider. The trail is wooded, with the exception of the occasional brief foray into an open meadow or power line trail. A few bridged stream crossings. The big issue with Rosaryville is getting lost because of the many spur trails and sometimes inadequately marked intersections. Apparently there's a map you can buy, so check into that. Otherwise, you're left to memorize the map posted in the parking area. Oh, and the trail is shared with horse riders and hikers.
Directions to the trail: From Baltimore: Take I-97 to Route 3 South. Route 3 will turn into US 301 South. Follow this until you get to Upper Marlboro, and the park will be on your right about 4 miles after you pass Marlboro Pike. Just look for the familiar brown sign. From DC: Take Route 4 East to US 301 South. After a couple of miles, the park entrance will be on your right. Look for the brown sign.
